A student of Buddhist teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh and a pioneer in bringing Mindfulness to the mainstream by creating a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course adopted by the medical community, Jon Kabat-Zinn has been a lifesaver of mine. I'm currently re-reading his book "Full Catastrophe Living" and every time, I come away with learning something new and different. I highly recommend the book for starters.
